This is the page where we introduce at irregular intervals our selection of shakuhachi made at Kitahara Seikado.
Ikuya Kitahara and Hiroki Kitahara inform you, from each other’s point of view, how we felt when playing, and further details about the selected shakuhachi.

1.8 shakuhachi= D tube Price:220,000JPY(TAX INCL.)
(Updated January 2022)
Since I was a student, I tended to have a higher temperament than people.
Even now, even if I play the same shakuhachi under the same conditions as my son, there is a difference of 5 hertz. It is not a bad thing to have a high or low temperament, but rather it is possible to play naturally by adjusting the instrument. -
It is possible to adjust the rule by adjusting the total length and the position of the hand hole. If you have any concerns about the current situation, please contact us.
Introducing this time is a completed 1.8 shakuhachi with the whole set low. It is pointed out that the shakuhachi is high, and it is a shakuhachi that can be blown firmly to those who were forced to hold it down. Please experience the calm and sweet tone and reliable operability once.

2.3 shakuhachi= A tube Price:275,000JPY(TAX INCL.)
(Updated January 2022)
Since I broke my ring finger on my left hand when I was a teenager, I couldn’t widen it much compared to my right hand, and I wasn’t good at holding down the 3rd hole of 2.3 shakuhachi. I wanted to make an instrument that was easier to blow and easier to operate with my fingers, so the new type of 2.3 shakuhachi introduced this time was born. -
With the change in the position of the hole, the inner diameter has also been significantly improved, and the shape around the mouth piece has been made similar to an 1.8shakuhachi, which has significantly improved the performance as an instrument and the operability of playing. This is a shakuhachi that we would like you to try once if you have been shunned because of difficulty or out of reach.
